What’s the best material for custom ties? You might be surprised to learn the answer is polyester. For the first time in centuries, silk is being dethroned as the de facto material for a range of garments -- including neckties.
Silk may be a natural fiber, but dying silk leads to a slew of environmental issues. Polyester, on the other hand, can be made from recycled materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill, and it doesn’t need to be dyed at all. That makes it the ideal choice if you’re looking for responsible sourcing in your custom made tie.
We’ve engineered our high-quality recycled polyester to look and feel like silk, but without the environmental impact. Polyester made from recycled water bottles is eco-friendly and can be made in incredibly stylish designs, making it the preferred choice for both first time tie-customizers and converts of more traditional processes.
In addition to the environmental impact, silk and other woven textiles come with a number of limitations in the customization process which can impact the design of your personalized ties. Our dye sublimation printing allows for a broader range of colors and patterns in your custom made tie, making it easier than ever to bring your vision to life - without any minimums or design restrictions.
We as consumers, manufacturers, and brands must also take action to reduce the harmful environmental impact of our activities. According to the EPA, the fashion industry contributes 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions due to its long supply chains and energy-intensive production. As manufacturers and consumers, we can make more responsible choices to limit the environmental impact of our garments, including ties.
When you design your own tie, you don’t just choose the colors and pattern. You also choose the tie company that will be manufacturing your one-of-a-kind necktie. So why not choose responsible production over fast fashion? We’ve pioneered the use of high quality recycled polyester fabrics with advanced textile printing to create the ultimate blank canvas for your custom ties.
Since day one, we’ve been determined to create a sustainable production process and create the most customizable tie possible. We spent more than two years working with our mill to create the ideal polyester tie fabric -- a specific weave made just for our ties that is intended to look and feel like a high quality silk tie. At the same time, this fabric is entirely created from recycled water bottles certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
All ties are printed first to this recycled polyester textile and then made on-demand, which reduces unnecessary waste and the environmental impact. The result is a tie that looks and feels like silk, without the damage to the environment. Every tie made from this recycled polyester diverts three plastic water bottles from landfills, transforming them into a stylish garment that can be worn for years to come.
Our customers love the hand feel of our ties, which is remarkably similar to silk, along with the quality and vivid colors of the design. They also love knowing that our custom ties are keeping water bottles out of landfills and chemicals out of the watershed.
Our process uses dye sublimation which is a high quality textile printing method that uses heat to embed colors directly into the fabric. Vivid colors that can’t be replicated with other decoration methods shine bright on our ties. The result is a stunning combination of color accuracy and design clarity, produced on a tie created from sustainable materials. Better yet, there's no minimums on any order since we create each personalized tie on demand.
Wedding customers love our process for the accuracy in color that matches their wedding shades exactly, and organization customers prefer it for being able to match their brand standards or Pantone colors with unique design options. Additionally, we don’t need to create excess fabric and waste that will not be used in the finished tie. We print the textiles that we need which reduces overall environmental impact.
Whether you're designing for a wedding or just for your wardrobe, use our ColorMatch chart to easily choose from over 560 colors. Because we do our own textile printing the colors you choose from the chart are guaranteed to match your finished personalized ties exactly.
No minimums, limitless design options, and a minimal environmental impact all make our custom ties the clear winner. Not only does using recycled polyester keep trash out of landfills, but it also allows us to print our ties using dye sublimation, avoiding the chemicals needed to dye silk and other fabrics. Printing our own textiles on demand also reduces waste.
Our sublimation printing also gives you more options when customizing your necktie. Traditional printing methods such as weaving, screenprinting, and embroidery all have limitations that dye sublimation printing does not. This gives you more freedom to design the perfect necktie - no matter the occasion.
Designing your own tie is the best way to match a tie to your wedding colors, create products or gifts that fit your brand, or wear a one-of-a-kind creation made with your artwork or one of our custom patterns. Are you ready to design the perfect necktie? Get started and see what it's all about.
