Customized items are items in our online shop that have a "Customize Colors" button which allows you to apply your own color palette to a pattern.

Custom designs are created by submitting a custom design request and working one on one with our design team to create truly one of a kind look from the assets you provide or ideas you describe.

No, we do not have any minimums. So whether you need one or thousands, we've got your back!

Yes, we can match to hundreds of colors. We can match to most coated and uncoated Pantones and we offer a ColorMatch Chart printed with over 500 colors to ensure the color you choose is exactly what you want.

For designs without Pantones or without color selections made using our ColorMatch Chart, we highly recommend verifying your colors prior to placing your final order. For color verification, we offer printed swatches or full custom samples.

Please note: Colors appear differently on screen based on individual settings and cannot be verified accurately on-screen or with images.

File Formats

For logo files, we prefer vectored formats such as .AI, .SVG, .EPS or .PDF. We also accept high resolution images that are at least 300 dpi in .JPEG, .TIFF, or .PNG formats at the desired size for print.


Outline Format for Text

When sharing a design file, it is important that all text be put into outline format. Outline format converts text into a shape, so that any person you send the file to can open and use the file even if the computer they are using does not have that exact font file in its library.

Here is how how to create outlines in Adobe Illustrator: 
1) Select (highlight) the text in your document.
2) From the Menu, go to Type > Create Outlines.
3) Save and send file!


Upload Artwork

When completing your custom design request, there will be an opportunity to upload several photos or files to your designer. If you have any additional assets, we can receive them via email.

Knotty Tie Co. respects the intellectual and creative properties of other artists and will not print any content that is owned without expressed written permission allowing us to do so from the copyright or trademark holder. This includes (and is not limited to) fictional characters, company or sports team logos, school or university logos, and artwork not classified as public domain. For more, see Knotty Tie Co. Artwork Terms of Use

​If you provide us with original artwork or visual assets, we respect your intellectual and artistic property and your assets will not be used for any other application without your permission.

When Knotty Tie creates original artwork for your custom design at your request, the artwork is owned by Knotty Tie and can be used for other applications.

Customer Service & Policies

We start processing all orders shortly after payment has been made and cannot add to, change or cancel orders once they have started production. Contact us as soon as possible if you would like to make changes to your order.

If your order has not started production, we will be able to cancel, change or add to your order.

If your order has already started production, we can help you place a separate order for any additional products. Add-ons typically ship separately from initial orders unless placed within very close sequence.

​Our talented team works hard to print, cut and sew each item to order for you. Our made to order manufacturing model cuts unnecessary waste and helps to make our manufacturing ethical, sustainable, and responsible.

We always stand by our commitment to excellent product quality, however, because all items are made to order in the sizing and colors you select, we cannot honor returns or exchanges for any reasons other than manufacturing defects.

Sometimes issues do occur, so if by chance there are manufacturing defects, errors, or quality issues with the item(s) you have received, please contact us with photos of the issue and we'll do our best to make things right as quickly as possible.

Our unconventional return policy allows us to offer an infinite number of customized product options in a more sustainable manner.

Orders made on our standard turnarounds do not come with a guaranteed delivery date and as such we cannot ensure delivery by a specific date.

Orders made on one of expedited turnarounds come with a guaranteed delivery date. Knotty Tie Co. does not issue full refunds or accept returns on orders delivered after their delivery date. We may provide a partial refund covering some or all of the shipping and expedite fee on a case-by-case basis.

If there are unforeseen manufacturing delays, our customer service team will do their best to proactively reach out to inform you of adjusted delivery dates.

Fabric

We print all our neckties on a high quality twill fabric made from recycled plastic bottles that we have milled specifically for our ties. Our recycled poly twill fabric has the soft sheen and feel of a semi-matte silk. 

Care

All neckties are dry clean only. We recommend dry cleaners that don't use "perc" (perchloroethylene) solvents. Do not steam clean or saturate with water. Small spots may be gently dabbed with gentle soap. If required, use iron with a light touch on a synthetic setting without steam. High temperatures may result in color transfer or melting.

When you choose a expedite at checkout, we guarantee delivery within the stated number of calendar days from ordering.

In very rare instances where delays are caused by unusually severe weather, or other causes beyond reasonable control, those delays will not be counted in determining the time it took to deliver.
